Hiking in Cape Breton – Nova Scotia

More health is hardly possible …

Hiking in Canada is a very special experience!

Around Janvrin’s Island we have many hiking trails. Here are some examples of such trails:

Janvrin’s Trail

Janvrin’s Trail takes you around the island in about 3.5 hours. It goes over sandy and rocky beaches, some sections only at low-water.

You can see seals, many seabirds, bald eagles, white-tailed deer and much more.

Delorier Peninsula Trail

The Delorier Peninsula Trail – To the east of Janvrin’s Island is a 3-hour hiking trail around the beautiful peninsula. On one side is the rough Atlantic, on the other side calmed water. Here you can see many seabirds, seals and lonely beaches.

Cape Hogan Trail

The Cape Hogan Trail starts at Clearwater Fish Farm and ends in the fishing village of Petit de Grat. On this way you have a magnificent view over the entire “Chedabucto Bay”.

With a little luck you can see whales and dolphins.

This trail was created in 2001 by the community Petit de Grat and is one of the most varied trails in the area.

Guided walks on the

Cabot Trail Cape Breton National Park

A drive over the enchanting “Cabot Trail” – one of the most beautiful streets in North America – is a MUST! Here were created by “Parks Canada” for all levels of difficulty, hiking trails. From most it is possible to see moose, deer and even black bears. We are happy to advise and give interesting tips.

For these trails, there are maps at our place or at the entrance to the park.

Guided excursion to the Cape Breton National Park (Cabot Trail)

Very early we drive to the Cape Breton National Park (Highlands). At dawn we observe moose in selected places. Then we drive to breakfast to strengthen ourselves for the walk. Then we accompany you on the beautiful trails of the Highlands. Also there we often find moose, deer, deer, partridges, foxes, squirrels or even lynxes. With a bit of luck you can even watch the shy black bear.

Depending on interest and weather, there is also the opportunity to observe whales in this excursion. Around the Cape Breton National Park lives a large population of pilot whales, which is guaranteed to be found on a boat trip. From time to time large humpback and fin whales pass by.
