The Cape Breton Highland National Park is located in the north of the island,
About 2 hours drive from the VIPI Lodge, is one of the most beautiful and spectacular national parks in Canada.
Deep canyons, steep coasts, dense forests, clear salmon rivers and still intact nature guarantee unique impressions. The Cabot Trail, which runs through the park, is rightly called the most beautiful coastal road in North America.
In the park itself, there are hiking trails in various degrees of difficulty, from the wheelchair capable to more demanding trails with up to 450 meters difference in height is all represented.
When, offered by us hiking tours, (almost) always moose are seen. The park also has black bears, lynxes and coyotes. In total, 40 different mammals live in and around the Highlands.
